This legging was designed with my original painting titled Burwigan. It is named after
an art collective I am a part of where we focus on the climate change crises in the Guna Yala islands, primarily the community in Ukupensi, also called Playón Chico.
Burwigan translates to 'kids' in the Guna language and through art we tell the stories of the first future climate change refugees in Panama, the Guna Kids. We inform, engage and inspire action on climate change. For more info: www.burwigan.com

The desire to try to protect these beautiful islands, beaches, and spending time with the indigenous community is what inspired me to start a sustainable clothing line with my art work. And so it was only fitting to have the first photoshoot with the clothes right here on Guna Yala territory.
